Serving underprivileged youth in Los Angeles and Orange County, California, 2021-2022 KiDs Grant recipient, His Little Feet, aims to “stomp out the stigma of poverty, one pair of shoes at a time.” They said, “We offer children new socks and shoes along with and a handwritten loving note to bring hope and restore dignity to children facing homelessness.”

His Little Feet kicked off shoe distribution on Dec. 11 with the help of Gail Freedman (Sigma Xi-Bethany), the KiDs grant sponsor, and members of the Parkcrest Christian Church.

With funding from the Kappa Delta Foundation, made possible by your generous gifts, volunteers offered dearly needed pairs of shoes to 140 foster children. Especially around the holidays, the gift of shoes has such a profound impact on these children.

The His Little Feet team is now gearing up for another upcoming shoe distribution, which will take place this spring. With their remaining grant funding, they plan to again provide shoes to over 150 more under-resourced children in dire need of resources. They note, “A child wearing properly fitting shoes has significantly higher self-esteem, which directly results in improved school attendance and better grades.”

This year, your gifts supported His Little Feet and eight other local organizations through the KD Foundation’s KiDs Grants. Thank you for making a direct, positive impact on families and children across the country.
